Lizzie Chongoti – Director
Mrs. Lizzie Chongoti joined the Board of the Centre for Corporate Governance (CCG) in 2020 as a non-executive Director. She also serves on the Board of Twaweza Communications and has previously served on the Boards of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO), the Grants Committee of the ICT Authority, the Christian Organizations Research and Advocacy Trust of Africa (CORAT AFRICA), the Legal Resources Foundation (LRF), a District Education Board and a Public Secondary School.
Mrs. Chongoti has over two decades of experience and is an indefatigable champion of strong, healthy organisations and networks having successfully delivered development programs in close cooperation with the government, the private sector, civil society, and the donor community across various sectors. She was previously Country Director at the Echo Network Africa; Regional Director of East Africa- the Education Collaborative; the CEO of the Kenya Film Commission; Country Director- at Heshima Kenya; an Executive Director of the Hilde Back Education Fund (HBEF) and a Program Director of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Programme (IFP).
Lizzie is an International Development Expert having designed, developed, and implemented programmes with a focus on Education, Financial Inclusion, Community Resilience and Livelihoods, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and Poverty Graduation. She is passionate about advancing positive transformation and fostering sustainable development working with multi-disciplinary teams to drive impact. An experienced Resource Mobilizer, Mrs. Chongoti is committed to connecting people and ideas to resources for a better humanity.
She holds a Master of Science from the University of Bristol (UK), a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University, and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (IHRM). She is a member of the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals.
