OUR EARLY DAYS

The Centre Established by a private sector initiative for corporate governance in 1999 to foster the highest standards of corporate governance in all types of corporations. 

At inception, the Centre was registered as the Private Sector Corporate Governance Trust (PSCGT), which was renamed the Centre for Corporate Governance in 2002. 

The Centre’s project activities at inception were envisioned and implemented under five main components, namely: Institutional Capacity Building, Education and Training, Research and Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Advocacy and Communication.

During its early years, the Centre facilitated the establishment of the Pan African Consultative Forum on Corporate Governance (PACFCG - 2001), the Kenya Shareholder’s Association (2001) and the Institute of Directors – Kenya (IoD -2002).
